Tips for Buyers
- Choose an agent that you trust and feel confident that you can work with
on this important decision in your life. As your agent I will be your advocate in
guiding you through the home purchasing process. My goal is to make the experience
as stress free as possible by explaining each step of the process and managing all
the details to a successful closing.
- Obtain Financing before you go to view homes. This will help you
avoid disappointments that are avoidable by being pre-approved by your mortgage
lender. It will also give you the price range you can comfortably afford.
- Make a wish list of things you would like to have in a house and things
that are a must have such as number of bedrooms and baths.
- Determine the area in which you would like to live. Select a few neighborhoods
that offer the type of housing/location you desire. If you have children you will
want to consider the school systems available in the area.
- View homes. This is the fun and exciting part. I will set up all of the
appointments and plan the tours, as well as provide you with printed overviews of
the homes you will be viewing. Be prepared to keep notes about the amenities. It's
easy for the amenities to run together when viewing several homes. Also, remember
to wear comfortable shoes when viewing.
- Write the offer. The offer will include the offer price, amount of earnest
money, total down payment, closing date, personal property items, your financing
and details covering the home inspection.
- Obtain a home Inspection. You're about to make a huge investment and you
want to make sure you know and understand all you can about the home.
- Contact you insurance carrier to get home owners insurance as soon
as possible. Remember to notify all the utilities of your move-in date.
- Close on your new home at a title company. This process should take approximately
1 hour.
- Welcome Home! Move into your new home and enjoy one of the best financial
investment s you can make for your family.
